Installing ReallEz Templates for wahmshoppes.com Mode 4

The following tutorial is as the heading suggests for using Reall Ez templates within wahmshoppes.com Mode 4. This tutorial would also apply to any other template that has been designed for use specifically with wahmshoppes and has already had the special required tags inserted into the template. Please replace any references to www.yoursite.com with the name of your actual domain name.

To install your store:-
1. If you are completely new to wahmshoppes.com hosting then you will need to install your store first via your control panel located at www.yoursite.com/admin
2. Please refer to Tony's 'site setup' email regarding your username and password to login.
The address to your Admin section will be www.yoursite.com/admin
3. Once logged in from the left hand menu click on the option for 'eStore" link.
4. A new link will appear underneath it to Manage Store, click this link.
5. Then you want to install your store by clicking on the button to do so. click again on the link that comes up to install the store.
6. Save

Using ReallEz Templates and what to do with the .zip folder

1. Unzip the file that is sent to you into a newly created folder in your "My Documents". You may wish to call this folder your site's name eg. Mine would be "ReallEz"
2. All wahmshoppes template graphics are stored in a folder called fdpb/images/Theme0. *The first thing you need to do is to upload your graphics. Probably the easiest way to do this if you are new to wahmshoppes is to:-

*Login to Featurecart (www.yoursite.com/store/setup.asp)
*Click on the left hand menu link for "File Utilities"
*You want to upload your logo and template graphics, so you select the option number #4.
*You will then have to use the 'browse' option to upload each graphic individually. Navigate to the folder in My Documents that you have unzipped your files to.
*Browse through to the folder "fpdb" double click it>double click the folder named "images" then the Theme0 folder will open.
*Upload every graphic contained within this folder one at a time.

*Another option instead is to upload all of your graphics via your Admin section www.yoursite.com/admin and browse to the Theme0 folder. When logged into your Admin area, click on the Folder Manager>Manage Folders>yoursite.com>www>fpdb>images>Theme0. Towares the bottom of the page there will be an option to upload your graphics by browsing your own computer files and then clicking 'upload'.

3. Once all of your graphics have been uploaded, you then need to install your template.
4. Still in Featurecart>Click on the "Configuration" link.
5. Scroll down to the section for "Mode 4" .
6. Click on the link "HTML store template".
7. Open the store template .html file that was sent to you. If you don't know how to retreive HTML code, please follow these steps.

* Go to your "Start" menu on your computer.
* Program Files>Accessories>Notepad.
* With Notepad open, you want to browse to and open the .html file. Make sure from the "file types" dropdown that you have "all files" selected.
* Once you have your file open, go Edit>Select All, then Edit>copy. If you can't see anything on the page, don't worry the code is there.
* Go back to Featurecart with the HTML store template page open. Right click your mouse>select all>hit your delete key>then right click in the HTML area again>select "paste" from your right click options>select "save".

8. To preview how your site will look using the template, use this link www.yoursite.com/store/default.asp
9. If you're happy with the appearance, back in Featurecart>Configuration>scroll back down to Mode 4 and then click the checkbox next to the option to switch to Mode 4 and then save your changes.
10. You will now be in Mode 4.

To install your new index page (the page visitors "click" to "enter" your store). {if you have an index.asp file in your zipped folder}

1. Login to your Control Panel (www.yoursite.com/admin) - please refer to your setup email for your password and username.
2. Click on the "Folder Manager" link
3. Click on the "List Folders" link
4. Under "Directories" click on the link yoursite.com (under the heading "Root").
5. Click on the "www" link.
6. Scroll to the bottom of the page to where is says "Upload Files">File 1>use the browse button to find the file named index.asp that you unzipped. (Make sure that the heading under "upload files" says "Upload To: \yoursite.com\www")
7. Click the "upload" button located on the bottom right hand side within the table.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INDEX.ASP FILE INCLUDED IN YOUR TEMPLATE PURCHASE, (An 'ENTER' HTML PAGE) AS PART OF YOUR DESIGN, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE YOUR SITE REDIRECT INTO YOUR STORE:-

Login to Featurecart> Click on 'Configuration'>In the top table/box for 'website homepage'>in the section for 'Choose Home Page Mode' please click the checkbox next to 'Redirect to Store'> save changes. Now when somebody types in your URL (domain) they will be automatically re-directed straight into your store.

How do I edit or add text to my index page* (the first page that visitors are taken to when someone types in your URL - domain name eg. www.yoursite.com)?

1. Login to your Control Panel eg. www.yoursite.com/admin
2. Click on the "Folder Manager" link
3. Click on the "List Folders" link
4. Under "Directories" click on the link yoursite.com (under the heading "Root").
5. Click on the "www" link.

6. On the right hand side under 'Listing of Files/Folders', click the checkbox next to the file name 'index.asp' follow that line along and you will see some small icons. If you hold your mouse over each icon, a description of what the symbols stand for will be shown. Click on the little icon with the pencil to 'edit file'.
7. You can then scroll through the HTML to find where you want to place your text OR right click your mouse in the HTML code box and Select All>right click again>copy. Then go and paste the HTML code in my editor here http://www.reallgraphics.com/Editors/index.asp, make your changes in WYWIWYG view and when you are happy toggle <> back to the code view, right click again Select All>righ click>Copy and then back in your admin control panel page, right click your mouse again Select All>Delete>right click again>Select All>right click>Paste
8. You can select to 'preview page' before saving the changes that you have made and then save your changes.
8. Your new index page will now appear on your site.

[* Every single website on the Internet has an index page. They are given different file name extensions such as index.asp, index.htm, index.html, index.psp but they are all there as a universal default page that EVERY web site opens to when a visitors initally comes to your web site.]

You have now switched your store over to Mode 4. When you type in your url (website address) you should be brought to your new index page to click "enter" and go into your store.

I wish you every success!

Rebecka

Also when you've installed your store, don't forget to add your site to our Links Directory as well as adding your site to the WAHMSHOPPES.COM hosted sites directory.
